Beetroot is a great source of many essential vitamins and minerals like folate (vitamin B9), Manganese, Potassium, Iron, and Vitamin C.

Nitric Oxide lowers blood pressure:
- Beetroot contains nitric oxide. Studies show that beetroot juice has the potential to reduce blood pressure with 3 to 10 mm Hg within a few hours after consumption. This is likely due to the increased levels of nitric oxide which signals the tiny muscle cells around the arteries to relax. When these muscle cells relax, the blood vessels dilate, and blood pressure goes down.
